Year round activities

Sheridan, WY, United States
15 Kudos
One of the oldest government protected forests in the US, the Bighorn National Forest stretches over 1,198,000 acres in northern Wyoming. It’s great for hiking and biking, with tree forests and scenic mountains and valleys or if you are not the active type, the drive up is beautiful with several stops along the way for picture taking. There are actually three scenic byways. There is plenty of camping (four group campgrounds, eight lodges and ten picnic areas) and many miles of stream, if you are into fishing. We saw several people fly fishing. In the winter there is skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling.
