The primary purpose of last year's trip to Rwanda was to do some volunteer work at a boarding school in the Rwandan countryside. However, we did take some time at the end to do a safari in Akagera National Park. A beautiful park, it is in the savanna region of Eastern Rwanda. While driving on a park road (road is a generous term) we saw this absolutely magnificent bull elephant. He was in a wetland, munching away, while walking, on the verdant vegetation in this swampy area. We were all in awe as he appeared to move effortlessly through the terrain.
