Almost every Alaskan cruise hits Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway. I am working on stories on all 3 (as well as hoonah/icy strait point, Sitka, and some of the cities and areas in inland alaska near anchorage so be sure to check those out if you are planning an Alaska trip!)If you are in Juneau in July - my biggest recommendation is whale watching. You can see whales most summer months, but July is the greatest chance of seeing the humpbacks bubble net feeding... which is one of the most incredible sights. I’ve also seen far more breaching in July than other months. Juneau Whale Watch is an amazing company that we have booked through 5+ times and always had a great time. This year we saw both bubble netting and breaching, and also saw orca! After the whale watching we went to Mendenhall Glacier and walked back to nugget falls. My brother and I even walked through the frigid knee deep water to climb up on a rock closer to the waterfall! On the way back into town we stopped at the alaska brewing company which has great beer!
