The George Washington statue at Boston Public Garden is not to be missed. Indeed, it is difficult to miss. It presides over the garden, and depending on your vantage point, Washington presides over the downtown skyline of Boston itself. Quite appropriate for the man responsible for devising and executing the plan to drive the British out of Boston, scoring the patriots one of their first victories of the Revolution. What happened here would set the stage not only for Boston's future, but the nation's. With that in mind, viewing this statue was quite poignant and moving to me as an American. This is a site not to be missed.
