I wrote a story about a very exotic and violent lava flow pattern in the Valley of Fires region near a ultra tiny town Carrizozo, a seemingly middle of nowhere in New Mexico. There are many unique geological formations here and we had to stop several times to enjoy the views until we passed a rather short stretch of the volcanic region. I later realized that the length of the lava flow region is huge and the road we traveled was shortest dimension through the lava flow. One of the areas that we found interesting was one with the posted photo were the lava is violently broken and it looks as if there was a big earthquake. It turned out that it is also lava but for somehow it looks as if there was an earthquake.
