Walking around some Addis Ababa Churches

Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
4 Kudos
I had about an 8 hour layover in Addis Ababa, so I caught a taxi into the town center. After hitting my main destination of the National Museum, I first walked around the Ethiopian Orthodox church that is right near the museum. Next, I noticed that Holy Trinity Cathedral was nearby, so I walked to it. It's an imposing cathedral, and I would have liked to entered it. However, they charge 200 birr entry fee (about US $6) and I didn't have that many birr left, as it was my last day in Ethiopia and I'd spent what I had. Sure I could have hit an ATM, but it didn't seem worth it for just this one thing. So I just admired the cathedral from the outside. I continued walking and also went around the colorful St. Gibi Gebriel church. After that I was tired of walking around with my backpack on (I'd had an early start to the day), so I just headed back to the airport.
