The beaches of Manasota Key are some of the lowest key, private and beautiful that I have seen. Though not as tropical as I usually like there are some palms and the remoteness of it more than makes up for it. This was probably the best shell collecting that I have ever had and have decorated with some of the large ones I found there. The area is known for sharks teeth and turtle nests too. The turtles nest up near the small dunes that separate the beach from the residences on the island. Even if you aren't staying on the island their are a couple public beaches there you can access too.
