I've taken alot of trains throughout Europe and Asia. Train travel on those continents tends to be very efficient and a great way to get around and see different areas. In the United States, train travel is not as common once you get out of the greater New York area (and maybe a little bit in California). So with that in mind, we wanted to try our hand at taking an Amtrak train from Charlotte to Raleigh.Surprisingly, the ride was decent. There is not real "bar cart", but there is a cart with vending machines. Overall the train was clean and the employees were friendly. There are enough stops in between the two cities to make the time pass relatively quickly. While it wasn't the same, it was still an interesting experience.
