Stepping our of the airport to start an adventure has never been more amazing. The Keflavic (kep-la-vik) International Airport is the most chill start to a journey that sets the tone for the entire adventure. The Icelanders are the most relaxed people I've ever been lucky enough to be in contact with. They are very proud of their culture and history and if you travel to Reykjavic you will be surrounded by an array of museums and local relics of the bast. The international airport is called Reykjavic on the ticket but you will need to taxi out to the city as the only thing close to the airport is blue Lagoon. Before going be warned that the cellular data didn't work for me on my Verison phone so I highly recommend purchasing the National Geographic map! It was a lifesaver! There are many places to see and using a camper van is the best way to do it! The rules have changed recently on off the road camping. You now must pull into a campsite which can be 11-15 USD depending on the site. These facilities can also have extra charges for showers so make sure you have coins. Iceland was one of my favorite trips I've had the pleasure of going on to date! I highly recommend going!
