Tide Pool Affords Safer Swimming at Ruby Beach

Tides are always on their way in or way out at Ruby Beach, Washington, and the constant movement firms pools of water that are left behind when tides recede or fill up when they advance. These can become preferred habitats for some species of aquatic life when their location is consistent. They are also a great place to play for small children since there are no dangerous currents and the water will warm up more on a sunny summer day due to the pool’s shallow depth. Several kids were skipping stones on the pool or wading in when I visited on a warm August day.
