Thomas Jefferson’s Old Digs

The Governor’s Palace is a beautiful building and one of the largest buildings in Colonial Williamsburg. The building that you see in the picture above was built in the 1930s on the site where the original Governor’s Palace was constructed about 150 years earlier. The most notable resident of the original building was Thomas Jefferson. The Governor’s Palace was eventually moved from the city of Williamsburg. Even though the building that we visited was not the original, I was still excited to be in the location where one of America’s Founding Fathers lived. There is so much history in Williamsburg.
