In the northernmost stretch of the California's Pacific coastal highway 101, there is the Redwood National and State Parks. The redwood is known to be tallest growing tree in the world which easily grows taller than the height of the US Capitol building. There are a few visitor centers around the Redwood National Park and the Thomas H. Kuchel Visitor Center is one of the visitor centers located at the Pacific coast. So, this place is a perfect place to get some information about the redwood and also enjoy the views of the ocean. You can get maps and watch videos about the redwood park. There is also a freshwater lagoon nearby which also looks quite nice.
