The small community of Whipholt is located 13 miles east of Walker, Minnesota. It’s one of the communities on the edge of Leech Lake. The lake is massive - it’s the third largest lake in Minnesota and the lake has eleven islands and many different bays. If you stand on the public dock in Walker, MN you can look out onto what looks like a enormous lake, (pictured) but what you are really seeing is just a bay - or fraction of the entire lake. All of the towns surrounding the lake are small, with Walker being the most active of them, especially in the summer.
