The oldest city in the US: St. Augustine

St. Augustine, FL, United States
4 Kudos
I visited the oldest city in US, St. Augustine earlier this year in February. It is known for its Spanish colonial architecture with beautiful parks with a fountain in the middle and restaurants and houses with patios and balconies. The churches there were from the late 19th-century and the construction mimic Spanish churches of the Renaissance age. The Castillo de San Marcos is a 17th-century Spanish stone fortress with views of the St. Augustine Inlet and is a good spot for picnics. One of the famous hotels, Ponce de Leon built in 1887 is now converted into a college and walk thru it is a walk thru time. St Augustine has the charm and vibe of a European town and is worth a visit and for beach lovers, there are 2 beaches in St Augustine.
