Anyone who has traveled has experienced it, going through a site or a museum and exiting through the gift shop. We have experienced it many places in the world, including after our tour of the back country in Monument Valley. However, this gift shop was a bit different. There were no cheap factory made trinkets, like keychains that say "Monument Valley". Instead the wares, while sparse, were actually hand made by the people selling them. There was little doubt there was a great deal of poverty surrounding this gift shop, but I did respect the authenticity of it, and the efforts put into some of their products.
