Once a year, all the attention of South Africa goes to one of the most deserted regions of the country: a few weeks after the winter rains, a barren landscape turns into a real sea of flowers. The whole of South Africa then mobilizes, and every inhabitant of Kleinzee, Vioolsdrift, Pofadder, Leliefontein, Groenriviersmond and the other villages around Springbok make every room in their house a guest room. The village lies more than one hundred kilometers north of Springbok on the border with Namibia , on the south bank of the Orange River at about 300 meters altitude. The most important source of income in Vioolsdrift is agriculture.
