It is clear that a lot of work goes in to maintaining the area, as it gets high visitorship. (Hence the $15 hiking day pass that I'm glad was covered as part of our professional development!) We parked at the West Trapps trailhead and headed into the forest. Blissfully, it was not too buggy even though there are some wet areas and, when you've hiked down far enough, an area that opens up into a stream/waterfall. There's an informational kiosk that shows you how there used to be a saw mill on the site which took advantage of the running water. One of my colleagues took a dip - right in her work clothes! - but beware, on the weekend you would not have the area basically to yourself as we did on a random Wednesday afternoon.
