This is really an amazing museum with an amazing story. The owner moved the building that houses the museum (his old family home) to the current location in 1995 and then built a replica of a traditional Icelandic turf roofed house next to it. When you pull of the road, you're greeted with welcoming signs, a welcoming dog, and welcoming people, and what I assume would be an amazingly welcoming campsite. The owner not only walks you through the museum himself, but he tells you stories about almost everything that you have time to listen to stories about. Icelandic history, fishing history, food history. A truly amazing experience, one of the kinds of things that really made me happy to have my own transportation, so I'd have the time and freedom for little stops like this that really made my trip.
