The Malta at War Museum

Valletta, Malta
19 Kudos
My favorite museum on the island nation of Malta was by far, the Malta at War Museum. Not to be confused with the National War Museum, the Malta at War museum is located within the very bedrock of the island – dug out by hand and occupied for the purpose of planning the resistance and fighting plans of all three military services during World War Two. Forgotten over time, then ‘re discovered’, it was under some renovations but for the most part was in full swing and did a wonderful job of transporting you back to when the underground facilities, maps, communications rooms were all crucial to the war effort.
