The Ethiopian Lounge at Addis Ababa Airport

Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

I had about an 8 hour layover in Addis Ababa between my flight coming in from Lalibela and when my flight left for North America that night. I first went into the city center for some exploration, but after a few hours I returned to the airport, at about 5:30. An advantaage of getting to the airport at that hour was absolutely zero lines at emigration or security. Since I was flying business class, I was able to go in the Ethiopian Airlines business class lounge. Since most of their flights aren't until later, I was the only passenger in the whole lounge. It's a pretty big lounge, too. The disadvantage of being there so early was that there was no hot food out yet, so I had to be content with some fruit and cheese and drinks. After reading and relaxing for a while, they eventually did put out their hot food, maybe around 7:30. They have a very nice buffet with several Ethiopian dishes, including doro wat, injera, lamb stew, and more. It was really great. A pretty nice place to kill a few hours before my flight.
