The Bund is the most famous part of Shanghai, on the west bank (Puxi) side. A lot of the front-row buildings are left over from British imperialist times, and they have the architecture to show for it.
Behind, the Puxi skyscrapers run for miles. Not as tall as the Pudong skyscrapers, which are the most common pictures you'll see of Shanghai. The pollution on this day was particularly bad. The haze prohibits you from seeing more than a couple of miles, and the "beach" from the low tide is rather polluted.
