I love to visit churches when I'm traveling, especially overseas. No matter the location, no matter the religion, there's always something moving about visiting a church--and they're often beautiful to boot. But you don't have to leave the country to see an amazing church. First United Methodist Church in Montgomery is a perfect example. It's huge, for one thing, and gothic in architecture. The church has a rich history, originally established in the 1830s but moving to the current location a century later. I visited a few years ago for a wedding and loved walking the grounds. I wish I'd taken a photo of the outside, but for some reason I didn't. If you're interested, I recommend looking it up--it's a beauty.
