Temple of Inscriptions at Tikal

Tikal’s Temple VI as also known commonly as the Temple of the Inscriptions, because its roof comb is inscribed with a lengthy heiroglyphic text on its sides and back. The highest part of the temple’s roof comb stands 40 feet high, and is accessed via three doorways. The text of the inscriptions tells a history of Tikal stretching back to the Preclassic period.
