The best and most convenient way to get from Helsinki to Estonia is by ferry. There are three companies that provide the service, Viking Line, Eckerö Line and Tallink. All leave frequently from separate areas of downtown Helsinki. We chose Tallink based on reviews and price and were not disappointed. The ferry terminal is state of the art, providing great views over the bay. There is a large size coffee shop inside the terminal in case you missed breakfast. The ferry itself is quite large, it holds about 2,000 passengers. It is a good idea to show up one hour before departure, it gets crowded where you will exit the terminal to enter the ferry. Several decks on the ferry provide drinks and food with ample of seating and if you need to, you can do some shopping in a store that stretches over two floors. The whole ride just takes two hours and does not cost a leg.
