Okay so the “Lincoln” log cabin itself was pretty much a bust in my eyes, but I was pleasantly surprised by the elevated nature trail which the national park system has provided at the site. The path way provides a scenic link between the park’s visitor’s center, and the birth place monument. The path twists and turns, and is not the most direct route between the two buildings if you are short on time. But if you have time to kill, I recommend it. The park does a great job labeling the various trees and plants which grow in these woods, and at the end of the day this is the very property through which a very young Honest Abe roamed. Hallowed ground, indeed.
