During a recent autumn trip to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, I decide to venture outside of the park to explore some of the other lakes and streams. Using maps, I discovered Sherando Lake Recreation Area just south of Waynesboro, Virginia and a few miles off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I headed out early in the morning and got to the lake about an hour after sunrise. Given that it was in October and off-season, the lake was very quiet and as smooth as glass. The trees surrounding the lake were in full color and reflected on the surface of the lake.
