One of my favorite places to visit in Paris was the beautifully, geometrically designed Luxembourg Garden (created at the direction of Queen Marie de Medici in 1612). The statues and plants are beautifully situated, and strolling around the gardens (which are around 62 acres in size) was a true delight. Absolutely lovely, peaceful place to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy Parisian streets, and perhaps have a picnic sitting at one of the many benches situated throughout this gorgeous green space. The gardens do close in the evenings, so be sure to check the hours before visiting. Easy to get to when staying in the city, and a highly recommended.
