St. Peter's Basilica

Vatican City, Vatican City

After our guided tour of the Vatican museums, we were given some free time to explore the 44 hectare country. We just randomly walked around, entering museums that are free. When I entered St. Peter's Basilica, little that I know it was the biggest church in the world! I was amazed at the height of the pillars dwarfing the numerous visitors. The gigantic statues, sculpted with attention to immaculate details brings feelings to us. Some statues were place behind safety glass due to vandalism in the past. Looking up to the interior design of the dome roof, it's impressive that this whole design was created 500 years ago. Finally, I descended down the stairs to see St. Peter's tomb.
