One thing that is really cool about Boston is how walkable the city is, and how close the major airport is to town. We were impressed by how after a fairly short fifteen to twenty minute bus ride from the airport, we found ourselves in the middle of the city. If you try to get to Manhattan from JFK, you are in for a trek a heck of a lot longer than that. Ditto for Los Angeles from LAX. When we got off at South Station, we emerged from underground to be surrounded by the high towers of Boston's financial district. It was quite an impressive and sudden sight for folks who aren't used to seeing such structures in everyday life.
