South Point is the Southern most point in the United States, and nearby is the famous Green Sand Beach. I've seen this place change over the years for sure. I remember being the only person there back in the day, but now it's very populated with beach goers, being shuttled in for $15 to save them the 3 mile hike across the dry hot landscape. I prefer the walk myself, you get a good view of the Pacific to your right, and you get to see lots of interesting ocean trash that's washed ashore if you look. Take plenty of water, and there there is not shade so bring a hat! I took this pic of this abandoned truck there, that caught my eye.
