I was going to write this story a little later but @Teebeetoo's story about "Someday My Ship Will Come in..." gave me the idea to do it now. The mention of the sizes of the ships was dead on in his story because one of the ships in his picture is the Allure of the Seas. The Allure is the second ship in Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class and when we went on it in 2012 it was the largest cruise ship in the world by 3 inches over the Oasis of the Seas. Since then two more Oasis Class ships have come out, the Harmony of the Seas and the brand new ship we went on, the Symphony of the Seas. Each time Royal Caribbean makes a new Oasis Class ship they make it just a tad bit larger than the previous so the new one will always be the "largest cruise ship in the world." Rumors have it a different cruise line is toying with the idea of making a larger ship, I don't know if it's true or not. We had, if I'm remembering correctly around 6,800 passengers and 2,232 crew members during our cruise (I should've written it down). This is not an advertisement it's just fun info.
