There is nothing like a field of fresh snow to keep kids entertained! The Wildlife Education Center, the animal-collection half of the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, is surrounded by steep woodsy trails and a stream running through. Those are great to walk at any time. But in winter? Say hi to the resident great-horned owl (she is injured and non-releasable), then walk directly across the street from the building, to the field on the other side. The day we came to play, not even animals had walked through yet - no deer tracks, etc. - and so we had ourselves a "snow picnic," enjoying samples of the snow!
