I always love to find the older parts of a town, especially in towns that try to retain the character of the past. Serum’s is on Jackston Street in Anoka, a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis. The building they are in dates from the late 1880s and still retains some interesting architectural features. Additionally, the place is filled with antiques from that period as well- many hanging from the ceiling. There are two levels with an upper outdoor balcony in the back. It’s a pretty unique place, not like many cookie-cutter chain bars and restaurants. They are known for their wings —their tagline being, “The best wings west of Buffalo.” We were there at night and it was packed. It was clearly one of the more popular spots in town.
