Samanid Mausoleum!

Rabatak, Bukhara Region, Uzbekistan
11 Kudos
In a park located just outside of the city center in Bukhara, you can visit the Samanid Mausoleum. The Samanid Mausoleum was built around 892 - 943CE and became Ismail Samani's resting place. This is considered as the most ancient monument of Islamic stucture and architecture in whole of Central Asia. It was definitely amazing how much this place has been preserved over time. There aren't really a lot do with in the park itself, atleast when I visited there were barely any people, just a couple of visitors admiring the monument inside. This historic structure is significant to this region because it is the oldest monument in Bukhara. Locals also consider it as sacred.
