Salt Life

St. Simons, GA, United States
7 Kudos
Saint Simons was the perfect weekend getaway. The island isn’t overcrowded like other beach towns and has a laid-back, charming beach vibe. We found a wonderfully priced AirBnB rental a block away from the King and Prince- I’d highly recommend looking into AirBnB or other rental websites since the hotels can be rather expensive. Our rental was a block away from the beach, which was perfect to catch some rays before changing and walking into town. The walk wasn’t more than a mile and was peaceful since most of the way is shaded by the big oak trees. Downtown, or The Village as it’s more commonly known, has a bunch of eateries and shops. My favorite shops were the ones that had all the furniture and gifts! A lot of people are on bicycles and foot, which cuts down on all the cars. This has become one of my favorite beaches to go to if you want to avoid the swarms of people in Florida.

Great night life! It’s so much fun sitting on the huge, open deck and listening to the live band.

The Half Shell SSI
Best seafood on the island! The oysters were amazing! The scallops over risotto was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
