Saint Stan's is something to see

Winona, MN, United States
0 Kudos
This astounding building towers over the modest working class neighborhood on the east side of Winona, Minnesota. Built in 1895 by the Polish-speaking parish, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and finally designated as an official basilica in 2011. The full name of this building is The Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, but it is locally known as “Saint Stan’s.” It is well worth seeing. When we came by on a weekday afternoon the front doors were locked, but the side door on the left side of the church was open so we were able to see the impressive interior as well.
