Safe Balconies While Cruising

Hollywood, FL, United States
11 Kudos
I love cruising on a ship with a balcony stateroom. Being able to walk outside to watch and smell the ocean and check the weather is important to us. One of my biggest concerns while traveling with young children is whether having a balcony is safe. All of the balcony cruise cabins have stayed in have safety latches on the sliding doors and the glass is floor to railing so there is no risk of children falling through the cracks. The biggest risk is if a chair or ottoman is pulled up close to the railing and a child could climb up and over the railing. I make it a habit to always pull the chairs and ottoman back towards the sliding doors and always make sure my kids are supervised on the balcony.
