As I was walking through the central core of the concourse at terminal B at Denver International Airport, I was struck by this art piece. I did a double take at first, as I momentarily forgot where I was; I thought I was looking at a Roman ruin. The haphazard placement of the stone, combined with the greenery, reminded me of my recent visit to Italy. I paused for a few seconds to admire it. I was pleased to discover that taking the time to appreciate it did provide a moment of calm, in what is normally a chaotic airport scene. It takes a little more effort for designers to add public art, but I think it is worth it.
