Leading up to the final weekend of our 7 week trip through Europe, we found ourselves in Provence in the small town of Puyloubier with no particular plan for the weekend. We had a vague idea of heading down to the coast for some French riviera action, but had no idea where, except we wanted to be fairly close to Marseilles to catch the TGV back to Paris for our final night before flying home. Once again, my wife came through in flying colors on hotel research online, and found us the perfect little beachside town and the perfect hotel. The Grand Hotel des Sablettes Plage is a Hilton Curio collection property and is absolutely beautiful. And best of all, the 3 night weekend was free due to some Hilton Honors points I had been hanging on to for the trip, just in case. And BOOM, it was the perfect place to use them, and at 20,000 points per night was an absolute steal for this type of property. Anyways, back to the driving day. We left Puyloubier early in the morning and drove over to the town of Vidauban to check out a potential workaway for another trip. Then only about an hour down to the coast to Sablettes beach to check in and rest before a spectacular sunset and some dinner. More about this place later. It was perfect!
