Porto City Tours by Train

Porto, Porto District, Portugal
15 Kudos
Porto is a fascinating coastal city located in the northwest part of Portugal. There is a lot to see and explore in the city and one of the best way to do it is via Train Tours. These fun touristic trains usually include a comprehensive tour around Porto city as well as the tour of Porto's famous wine cellars where you can enjoy tasting the best Port and Portuguese Wines. There are many different tours available each day, most are either for 2 hours or 4 hours. Our tour departed from Porto Cathedral and included a train ride through the historic city center of Porto and a visit to some of the oldest wine cellars in Porto.

Points of interest

Real Companhia Velha Degustação
I highly recommend to choose a tour that includes a visit to wine cellars. Regardless whether or not you drink port or wine, the tour itself is quite fascinating inside the cellar caves.
Most train tours are not a "hop-on hop-off" version, so if this is what you are looking for, please make sure to clarify before you purchase the tour.
Almost all train tours allow you to upgrade your tour to include a lunch. Lunch is usually a buffet style restaurant featuring typical Portuguese cuisine.
Porto Cathedral
Most train tours depart every 30 minutes from Sé Catedral (Porto Cathedral), which is located in the old city center.
Onboard train audio guides are good quality and available in many languages.

This restaurant has a very intimate atmosphere and every dish looks like an artistic masterpiece.
O Paparico
Dining in this unique restaurant was a highlight of our Porto visit. The menu is delicious and the restaurant is located inside a cave with massive stone walls and romantic glistering lamps.
