After ferrying across to Inis Oirr in the Arran Islands (also known as Inisheer) from Doolin, we opted to take a quick pony and trap ride around the island. This was truly a great way to get to see the island, and a great way to learn about the culture there. Plenty of drivers are lined up at the pier waiting to fill their wagons with tourists. Our driver was quite an interesting character (a gruff but friendly older gentleman), and provided some great insight about the people that call this place home. It truly is a fabulous place to visit. We made a few pit stops along the way at particular points of interest, and made it comfortably back in time for the ferry. Next time will definitely plan to stay longer. Also just loved meeting these beautiful work horses.
