During our time in Monterey, we took a side trip to check out Point Lobos. The paths along the ocean are well kept and easy walking for any age. We spent almost 5 hrs walking the various trails and took time for a picnic along the way. Arrive early in order to get a parking spot, although many cars park on the side of the road. Well worth the admission fee for the car. There are several parking areas and picnic places throughout. Make sure to get a map of the various trails. Washrooms are available in certain areas. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect. The docents who are set up in various areas are eager to show the seals, otters and birds as they have telescopes set up for viewing . You must experience this if you’re in the Carmel area.
