Petra, the capital of the ancient Nabataeans Empire, is absolutely fascinating city to visit and there are several sights not to be missed in this grandiose ancient city. Al-Khazneh facade (or "The Treasury") is the first jaw-dropping sight you will see as you finally enter the city. It is one of the most elaborate and breathtaking temples in Petra, carved directly into red cliffs. Other great sights to explore are The Royal Tombs with elaborately detailed carvings, The Urn Tomb, The Palace Tomb, The Corinthian Tomb and The Theater. If you don't mind climbing close to 900 steps, then definitely visit The Monastery, which offers a stunning panoramic views of Petra valley.
