The Carson House in Eureka, California is also known as the “Pink Lady.” This house was completed in 1889 and is across the street from the Carson Mansion and is a Queen Anne/Eastlake Victorian style residence that was owned by the Carson Family until the 1940’s. The house was used as a boarding house for several years and became seriously deteriorated. In 1963 a local real estate broker and former council member and mayor of Eureka bought the house. The Carson House was fully restored to her former glory and earned the City of Eureka’s first Beautification Award. Since the Carson House id directly across the street from the Carson Mansion they decided to paint the house a contrasting color and chose pink with white trim. If you visit Eureka, California don’t forget to take a run by these two mansions, the Carson Mansion and the Carson House
