Perusing Paris

Paris, Île-de-France, France
3 Kudos
Paris is the city of love....and bakery items! I have been to Paris many many times but this past summer was hands down the best. I was even traveling all by myself! I got to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I visited ALL of the tourist hot spots including Notre Dame, the love/lock bridge, the underground ruins, famous dead people's tombs, the Eiffel Tower (of course), L'arc de Triomphe and so much more. I even fell asleep on a park bench in the Luxemburg Gardens at one point (oops!). I visited many museums my favorites being the Louvre and the 4th floor of the Georges Pompidou building, or what I like to call, the "inside out" building.If you have any questions on where to go or what to do, ask away! I've been to Paris 21 times, and just bought my plane ticket TODAY for my 22nd time(;

Culture and experiences

Notre Dame
Notre Dame
This is a must see when in Paris. Long line but advances sooo quickly and it's FREE! Highly recommend and such beauty on the inside, it's crazy that it's still standing (especially with all the foot traffic).
Catacombs of Paris
Catacombs of Paris
This experience was a very unique one. Underneath Paris there are millions of skulls; you're basically walking on one giant grave. The line to get into this place was about 3 hours (insane) and the experience itself took about 1 hour. You're not allowed to touch the skulls but honestly, you don't need to. Super cool, just wish the line wasn't as long!
Louvre Museum
Louvre Museum
The Louvre will take you all day plus some to finish. I spent my whole day here and still didn't have time to see everything! Just make sure to wear comfy shoes and be prepared to read! Also, the line is long to get a ticket in, but well worth the wait!

Pont des Arts

SO CUTE! Though I traveled solo in Paris, this love lock bridge was one of the sites that make Paris the love and romance capital of the world! This pedestrian only bridge has such a pretty view of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower! Take a nice little stroll around the neighborhoods to see how Parisians really live.
Georges Pompidou
This inside out building is a museum and it's 4 floors is a MUST when visiting Paris. Tickets so cheap and free for some (check their site). All of the art inside and out are so cool! I took my time throughout the 3 floors and was rushed on the 4th floor because I had to get back and they were closing soon but definitely start with the 4th floor and work your way down. Hands down my favorite thing I saw last year in Paris!!!! (:

Wow, 21 times! We're going in Sept, only our 2nd time! But we've seen the big sites, looking to relax in a nice little quaint neighborhood with good cafe sitting and people watching, close to metro. Suggestions? Thanks!
