On our way to my in-laws lake cabin this weekend, we saw many deer — much more than we typically see this time of year. This deer stayed still long enough for me to take this photo with my phone out the car window before it bolted away. It’s amazing how well the deer is camouflaged with it’s background. It sat there for a few seconds and then bolted away, flashing its white tail, as you can see in photo two. Unfortunately, we also saw one dead deer, likely one that starved during the long cold winter or that was possibly injured by a car and later died. Watch for deer when you are driving in this area, especially at dusk as the deer come out at that time.
