I recently stopped at Pedernales Falls State Park near Henly, Texas. At this point, the Pedernales River flows over a series of limestone ledges, creating several waterfalls.
This photograph shows the main waterfall, but there are several other waterfalls and rapids in the park as well.
After arriving at the park, I had a three mile drive to the park office and then another three mile drive to the parking area. From the parking area, I had a short and easy hike to the overlook where this photograph was taken.
If you want to have a closer look at the falls, you will need to climb down a series of steps and over several rock ledges. This part of the hike is not difficult, but not exceptionally easy either.
