Peak 2 Peak Gondola is Breathtaking!

Whistler, BC, Canada
9 Kudos
Other than skiing and mountain biking in the area, perhaps Whistler's biggest draw and most popular attraction is the Peak 2 Peak Gondola which carries riders between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. It is one of the longest spans in the world between cable towers and not for the faint at heart. To reach it, you have to book a ticket which includes the Peak 2 Peak gondola from the Whistler Village gondola just to reach the Peak to Peak (which in of itself is also fun!). Cost was ~$50-60 CAD if I remember right for an all day pass to ride as many gondolas and ski lifts as you want for the entire day. The views from the gondola are just incredible looking down at the valley floor below and seeing Whistler in the distance, even on a somewhat overcast day as it was. The cabins had plenty of room for all rider types as well, even for those with ski equipment (yes, there was still some snow atop Whistler mountains even in early July, enough to go snowboarding or skiing!). The ride across the valley from peak to peak takes approximately 15 minutes. You can queue and ride a glass-bottom gondola if you so choose as well, but didn't find the longer wait (20-30 minutes extra) worth it. It was quite a memorable experience and a must-do if you don't fear heights! TIP: Book ahead of time online to save money and avoid standing in line to buy tickets. The lines were long!
