During my trip to Thailand I participated in a one day meditation retreat. The course is run by the Buddhist University of Chiang Mai as a donation based class. The course was quite unique. Through the day we got to learn about the fundamentals of Buddhisism, practiced silent meditation and learned about walking and dynamic meditation. The course was run by monks and through the day we got to ask them questions about Buddhism and a monks life. Registering online is required before hand as only 30 people a day can participate. Before lunch they asked everyone in attendace to donate to support the monks.
