At the far eastern end of the town of Solvang, there is one place that is nothing to do with Danish heritage, that is the Old Mission Santa Ines. In fact, you can walk to the mission as it is right next to the Solvang Windmill. Just like many old missions spread out in California, this mission is a Spanish mission. It was founded at the turn of the 19th century. The Old Mission Santa Ines is very well preserved (perhaps it has been restored) and it has beautiful garden. On the other side of the mission, you can have a great view of wide open field, vineyards and mountains.
